Opening times Khunjerab pass

Hello!

I want to travel from Kashgar over the Khunjerab pass to Gilgit in the beginning of November 2004.

I know the pass is closed in winter. Does anyone know the exact dates when it will be closed? What are the chances to travel this pass just before the closing date?

Hi Rik-Jan,

It's usally open from 1st of May till 1st of November, depending on the weather. When you are travelling between June and October there will be no problems.
Of course also depending on the current political situation. Chinese often close roads without prior information and it's not likely but possible to get stranded here or there. Though it's not a big hassle as Hunza and Xinjiang have plenty to see and do.
