I am toying with the idea of visiting Kathmandu in Sept. 2011. Would it be possible to get some good info like from local people what to do/ where to stay like good Guest house etc.

It would be worth to buy some travell guide book like the lonely planet . You will get most of the information and even learn thinks you would not even ask.
