Permit cost for the newly opened trek areas
Good news to trekkers! His Majesty Government of Nepal has nullify Liaison Officer (LO) in the trek of the restricted areas except in Mustang and Far Western Nepal - Vyas (Darchula) and Humla. According to the decision made by His Majesty's government now Liaison officer is not required for Manaslu and Upper Dolpo trek (the Caravan route). However trekking permit is required from the department of Immigration.
His Majesty's Government of Nepal has also announced permit cost for the newly opened restricted area for tourist; Trekkers are required to travel in group with a recognized trekking company as per Nepal Gazette (Rajpatra) issued on 17 June 2002. The permit cost is as follows: US$ 10 per week per person for first 4 weeks, thereafter US$ 20 per person per week for:
Taplejung - Olangcugola, Lelep, Papung and Yamphudin,
Sankuwashava - Kimathanaka, Chepuwa, Hatiyagola, Pawakhola
Solukhumbu North West towards Nangpala and Thame,
Rasuwa - Thuman, Timure US$ 10 per person per week:
Manang - Nar, Phu, North of Tilche, Thoche. September to November US$ 90 per person per week, December to August US$ 75 per person per week:
Mugu, Dolpu, Pulu, Bhangri US$ 90 per person per week, then after US$ 15 per person per day:
Humla - Limi, Tangekhola, Darma, Bajhang - Kanda, Saipal, Dhuli - Darchulla – Vyas (LO is required in this trek)
