Hallo Nepalreisende,
die Meldung aus nepalnews.com scheint darauf hinzudeuten, daß in den nächsten Wochen vor den angekündigten Gesprächen der Regierung die Maobadis mit Streikaufrufen und Bombenanschlägen ihre Anwesenheit nicht nur im far west, sondern mitten in KTM unterstreichen wollen.
Erhöhte Aufmerksamkeit und Vorsicht einerseits, aber auch bzgl. der Streiks nepalesische Gelassenheit sind geboten.
Ich kam vor kurzem aus Nepal zurück und hörte unterwegs auch Gerüchte über den nächsten Streik.

Life in the capital city has been crippled in the wake of the valley bandh called by the underground Nepal Communist Party (Maoist).
The streets of Kathmandu were deserted Monday with only a few vehicles braving the Maoist sponsored bandh. Shops along the major thoroughfares of the city are closed.
The Maoists set off four blasts in the capital city in the eve of the “Valley Bandh”. Apart from one security guard injured at the Jai Nepal cinema, and two at Diary Development Corporation, there were no other injuries.
Though there was no official call for the bandh, rumors about the bandh spread like forest fire prompting shopkeepers to pull down their shutters for fear of being assaulted by the Maoist activists.
