Eight INGOs under investigation.
Suspecting irregularities, District Administration Office, Banke has begun investigation on eight INGOs working on ex-Kamaiya rehabilitation programs, reports from Nepalgunj said Friday.
The investigation followed complaints from the ex-Kamaiyas or free bonded laborers, who said staff of the INGOs misused investment and programs meant for the ex-Kamaiyas.
The Office has sought details from the eight INGOs on programs and investments they made in the last three years for rehabilitation, reports said.
The INGOs include GTZ, Action Aid, MS Nepal, Plan Nepal, Save the Children US, Care, ILO and World Food Program.
