Hallo,
So ganz klar ist mir jetzt nicht, ob man ein TRC braucht oder ein TIMS. Wie ich es verstanden habe, nicht, aber kann jederzeit kommen.
Wenn so ein Dings bis März nötig wird, wie bekomme ich es dann? Muss man da Zeit einplanen?

Momentan ist alles auf Eis gelegt.
Und wenn es wieder irgendwelche Permits und Einschränkungen geben wird, wirst du es hier im Trekkingforum als erstes erfragen.

The government has asked NTB and TAAN to provide the service to the agents and tourist.

TIMS will be however a must for all tourists and will be checked by any goverment agency such as police, army etc.
Inside TAAN there are quite factional differences, with the old and new lobby for old styled TRC still wanting a different TIMS than envosaged by the goverment.
NTB is not a player in such things, but NTB will issue TIMS for free (but you have to go there) and TAAN will have an office in Thamel to issue against the 100 NRS fee the same.
Trekking agents can apparently also issue TIMS to their clients.
But please take this as some provisorial informations as the whole issue is not jet fixed and anythig can come out of this game. But it seems the goverment has no bad intention to squeeze tourists, rather to have valuable data for statistical and rescue/emergency reasons.

Momentan wird ein TRC nicht benötigt, dies wird auch wohl für März gelten;) .
TRC ganz sicher nicht, aber TIMS wird wohl im März da sein wenn alles so geht, wie es scheint.
Aber der TIMS soll ja nicht vergleichbar mit den TRC sein. Hoffen wir's.

Mit so einem TIMS könnte man ja leben. Die zivilisierte Variante, die die Trekker nicht in die Hände der Porter Pimps in Kathmandu und Pokhara treibt und die zu statistischen Erhebungen und Informationen über die geplante Trekkingroute im Notfall führt, ist ja eine gute Sache. :up:
Aber vielleicht müssen wir da noch abwarten, ob das alles wirklich so harmlos ist, wie es jetzt rüberkommt.

egal, wo Du hingehst in den Haupttrekkingregionen, brauchst Du sowieso extra eine Nationalpark- oder Conservation Area Projektgenehmigung. Für die mußt Du in Kathmandu sowieso zum Thamel in die Nähe der Pizzeria "Fire and Ice".
In der Gegend wirst Du sicher auch die TIMS mitnehmen können. Beide bekommst (bzw. wirst Du bekommen) Du ohne viel Wartezeit gleich zum Mitnehmen.

Wenn ich mir das so durchlese, stellt sich mir die Frage, welcher Sinn in diesem TIMS gesehen wird?
Momentan klingt es so, als wäre es ein reines Statistik-Formular. Wenn das stimmte, worin läge dann der Unterschied zum ACAP-Permit, womit ja auch eine Statistik erstellt wird.

Vielleicht wird die genaue geplante Reiseroute erfragt? Oder Kontaktadressen, die im Falle eines Unfalles etc. kontaktiert werden könnten?
Natürlich nur wilde Spekulationen respektive Wunschträume.
Das würde z.B. Sinn machen. Das wäre die 100 Rupees allemal wert.

Hier sind sehr viele Nepalexperten unterwegs. Naja, deshalb bin ich auch hier :D
Aber weil ihr euch so gut auskennt, wird einfach viel angenommen, was eh jeder wissen wird. Die "Anfänger" wissen aber nicht, wieviel 100 Rupees in Euro sind ;) Meinen Lonely Planet hab ich grad nicht hier.

Ein Euro und zehn Cent... :-)
Noch ist ja fast alles im Nebel und es ist sicher etwas voreilig, wenn TAAN meint, das ganze schon zum 1.1.2008 unter Fach und Riegel zu haben.
Soweit ich das aber abschätzen kann, will der NTB dass TIMS auch umsonst abgeben. Ich habe NTB angeschrieben und gefragt, ob man TIMS auch mit einem freien Porterguide bekommen kann. So wie ich sie von TRC her kenne, werde ich aber wohl vergeblich auch eine Antwort warten.
hoffen wir, dass die TAAN Bemühungen, wieder eine TRC artige Zwangsregulierung zu kriegen, erfolglos bleinben wird.

das wäre ja eine gute Neuigkeit, dass das NTB das TIMS auch unabhängig von einer Buchung bei einem Trekkingveranstalter hergäbe. Ich hoffe, das wird auch so bleiben.
